Selective Pallet Racking (Beam Racks)
Selective Pallet Racking is a widely used industrial warehouse storage system designed for accessing palletized goods. It consists of upright columns and horizontal beams. This heavy duty racking system is simple, safe, and reliable. It must be used with forklift trucks. Forklifts can freely access any position of the goods. It features a simple structure, convenient operation, good accessibility, safety, and high warehouse space utilization — a key advantage for high density storage.
Column Structure — The column cross-section is composed of 11-13 planes, providing a large moment of inertia, strong bearing capacity, and high impact resistance. It is manufactured using the “first punching, then cold forming” process, which completely avoids stress concentration and column crack failure.
Beam Structure — All beams are formed by an automatic roll-forming machine. Compared with traditional manual welding, this process offers absolute advantages. It looks cleaner (no welding points), and the structure is more sturdy and durable. The load-bearing capacity is greatly improved compared with traditional beams.
Usage Precautions
-
Use with pallets and forklifts. Forklifts must not hit the rack. Handle goods lightly and steadily.
-
Avoid top-heavy loading. Place light goods on higher levels and heavy goods on lower levels to maintain warehouse safety.
-
Do not overload. The weight per level must not exceed the design load capacity.
-
Do not exceed the recommended dimensions. Tray and cargo sizes should be slightly less than 200mm clearance in width. The cargo height should not exceed 1800mm.
-
Personnel are forbidden to climb the shelves. When there is cargo above, operators should avoid standing under the shelves.
-
When stacking, place the pallet as close to the column as possible, leaving a uniform gap between pallets. This increases the safety factor and shelf life.
-
Warehouse personnel and forklift drivers should regularly inspect the shelves. If any abnormal conditions or safety hazards are found, they must be reported to management in a timely manner.
